I became interested in knifemaking a few years ago as a result of Bladeforums. I finished two knives and had a handful more ready for heat treat then I didn't touch them for a couple years. My interest has been renewed and I've been working on some of my old blades and one new design I made for a friend. I wanted to share some pictures of the ones I've completed because in spite of their flaws I am pleased with how they turned out. My wife encourages my hobby but she's not a "knife person" so she doesn't have a lot of input for me. I have no intentions of making knives for profit but I do want to improve my skills. Criticism and advice is welcomed. Sorry for the mediocre pictures.
Knife #3 (large) and #4 (small)
I have a great friend who expressed interest in a knife. He is kind and generous so it was my chance to return the favor. We worked together on a design and came up with the larger blade. I think Fiddleback handles are amazing so I told him to take a look to get an idea on handle materials and colors etc. so the handle material/pin placement is Fiddleback inspired. I hope that is ok. I had just enough steel left to make the smaller knife. I didn't tell him about it so it was a surprise when it showed up. I wanted them both to have a matching dark patina on the flats but I couldn't get it to come out smooth on the large one so......they don't match.
Both are 3/16" O1. Peters heat treat. Natural canvas micarta bolster/green(looks more brown) canvas micarta handle. Orange G10 liner. Nickel silver pins and stainless mosaic lanyard tube.

#5
My oldest son took a liking to this one so I finished it with homemade burlap micarta and red liners. It's 5/32" O1. Nickel silver pin/tube. Peters heat treat.

#6
My neighbor just graduated from his pipefitter apprenticeship so I finished this one for him. I drew it a couple years ago intending it to be a skinner. I don't hunt yet and he does so I figured he could put it to use. It's 5/32" O1. Peters heat treat. The same Green (but looks brown) canvas micarta. Nickel silver pin/tube.

Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.
