So I had some family business to take care of this morning, and on the way home, me and the wife hit up a few flea markets. I found this little advertising pen knife for a few buck and though, what the heck. I always hear how common these used to be, but I never had one. I brought It home, and cleaned it up a bit, put an edge on both blades, and tightened up the main blade, which had a little wobble to it. I gotta tell ya, this little guy has some real charm to it, and I like it as much as any of my other knives. The tang says Camco USA, which I've never heard of. I like this one so much that I was considering starting to collect old advertising knives. So, if anyone else has any that they'd like to share pics of, ease feel free.

Camco was a inexpensive brand put out by Camillus...I think starting in '48?
Nice advertising knife. I have a few, they definitely have a lot of charm.

I love my cheap little advertising knives! Sharp as the dickens too!

Nice guys. Mine sharpened up really easy. It's a wicked slicer. I thought there would be more interest in these type of knives. I find them really interesting.

I'm a fan of ad knives. And yup, Camco was the economical Camillus line. They made kids knives:

They also made a ton of ad knives and knife working knives like this barlow I gave a friend:

A lot of the kids' knives got lost to mumbletypeg and kiddom. The working knives usually got worked, not like this one.

Yours is a sweet one for sure.

If memory serves, Dan, you have posted that before. Glad you posted it again. It's a really cool knife and fun to look at.

I have, Frank. Man, I wanted one of those rocket whistle knives for a LONG time. Then got a mint one. Sometimes.... ;)

Wow LKJW, that yellow handled one is really cool. It's hard to believe that there was a time when most little boys were allowed to carry a pocket knife. Nowadays it would be looked at as irresponsible parenting by most people (I'm not one of them ;) ).
