You forgot a word: "ca is far from being the most restrictive state yet". California is on the fast track to becoming the most restrictive, and LA is leading the charge. We'll be leaving NY and DC behind soon. Can't hardly wait to leave the "People's Republic", and move to Nevada or Vermont.
so, let me get this straight. you make this post...

indicating you are well aware of how los angeles is leading the charge in restricting knife carry, then follow with this thread?
ok, whatever. here you go:

see post #5, the link will take you to a thread that has both county and municipal laws posted.
Wow. I didn't know a simple statement about the well known reputation of LA as a restrictive area for knife carry would generate this kind of ire. I never said I had intimate knowledge of the specific laws. Thank you for the link.
I made a very opinionated statement based on my own observations, as well as the political climate in California. What can I say, I'm opinionated. However, as you can find with a quick search, my opinion of California, and LA, is not unique. I'm sorry if I offended you, but my opinion is still the same: California is going socialist. For example, look at the restrictive legislation Arnie just signed regarding ammunition. It may not stand, but it indicates the willingness of the state government to restrict our freedoms. I won't go into all the restrictions with regard to scout knives at school, hunting tools, and the overtaxing of businesses, which is bankrupting the state.
Now, I know this has nothing, specifically, to do with knife carry in LA, but I have read some of the region-specific laws regarding such in the past, but it has been some time, and I don't recall the exact regional restrictions. However, as legal language is confusuing at best (I think just to justify lawyer fees), and misleading at worst, and always subjective and open to interperetation, and I leave Sunday afternoon, and thus will not be able to get my law degree in time, I was looking for specifics from Southern California locals on what they have observed regarding allowables, especially as local law enforcement often has a large amount of leeway regarding the application of said laws.
I don't know what I did to offend you, but I hope this explains my feelings on the matter. I don't wish to get in an argument or flame war, so I will not respond any further on this subject. Please accept my apology for any offense on my part.
