Hello, good night, I'm looking for a everyday knife, glass breaker, multitools, so far it's models
Gerber hinderer
Ontario xr1
Smith & Wesson SWBG8TS Border Guard 4.3"

Also a neck knife
Thanks for any advice.

Neck Knives: I really dig the CRKT Minimalist series after trying 30+ neck knives during my life, from Shcrade to S&W, other CRKT, ESEE, Becker and Ka-Bar, etc.

These are the best IMO. Small, unobtrusive, come with a razor sharp edge that's really really easy to sharpen and tune up. Soft steel, but enough for most folks.

They go completely unnoitced, sheath has great retention.

They can be worn in the belt as well (there's a specific attachment method), or go in the pocket.

They come in four different shapes, to suit your needs/particular tasks. Their handles are ergonomically perfect for me, comfortable and nicely designed.

I've only found one real contender, the Spyderco ARK. Released this past year, it is even lighter than any of the CRKT, thinner and its main selling point is its steel (H1) which can not rust.

It's designed to be worn 24/7, and no problem with that. You don't really notice it is there. You can swim at the sea, sleep with it, shower with it, and don't worry about it at all.

Its sheath offers great retention with minimal weight and imprint, it's so flat.

Tha main con of all these neck knives is edge retention, which is relatively low in both steels (3Cr13MoV and H1) but I find it enough for an entire day of tasks and EDCing jobs. YMMV

I'll second ThePeacent's neck knife recommendations. I have both the ARK and the CRKT Minimalist, wharncliffe blade. Both very small, light, but still useful neck knives. The ARK, especially, is so light you can almost forget you have it on.

You can buy a Kershaw Blur with a glass breaker, and a linos kydex neck sheath for it, and kill two birds with 1 stone if you will... Clip the Blur in your pocket as an edc, or sheath it around your neck...

You can actually go that route with custom kydex for nearly any pocket knife actually, I just know linos does the Blur sheaths in stock rather cheap because I have one. I'll post pics later.

Ok thanks I'll buy the CRKT Minimalist. For the rescue knife any advice, any recommendations.

For a straight rescue knife check out the Spyderco Assist Salt. If you're more interested in the multitool bit, the new Boker Plus Tech Tools all come with a glass breaker and they have a variety of models with a pretty broad selection of tools.

I just bought a CS mini Pendleton Hunter for 25 bucks shipped, nib off an ebay vendor. Thing is VG1 steel, drop point, excellent grip ergo's for being small, excellent sheath that can be worn on the belt or around the neck, weight is a few ounces and is beyond sharp. I don't see how everyone doesn't own one for the price point. I am going to keep it my truck attached on the door with some velcro. Invisible and unobtrusive till ya need it. Excellent little knife. keepem sharp

I just noticed this knife. Very tempting. One thing is the handle is on the small side.

Yep it is but very grippy. I like it. I bought one when they first came out and it ended up in my sons vehicle for a number of years. Looked at it sitting in the door well last week and thought to myself I need another. So I sprung for it. Inexpensive for a good knife, and well made all around. keepem sharp

Ii have the border guard 2, and I like it for what it is... But I keep it in my truck as a backup "just in case" knife... It a big chunk knife for every day carry.

This Schrade is nice. I soaked in vinegar for 48 hrs. I left it stuck in a potatoe for 24 hours, trying to induce some kind of a patina. It's held up quite nicely. Hardly any noticeable tarnish to the blade. I don't know why the heck Schrade coats the blade in black. It's practically stainless. The edge holds a razor sharpness, and it touches up with just a strop.

This is what the stock scales look like.

A bit more expensive than the CRKTs but unbeatable as a neck knife IMO

carries flat and weighs less than 2 oz. sheath included. Hard to beat that

can't rust, unlike any other neck knife (apart from titanium knives or ceramic blades)

really thin, most neck knives are thicker and don't slice nearly as well. Perfect for delicate cuts.

has the Spyderco warranty to back it up!
