I recently purchase a small Sebenza. i have the bug and now want to get an inlaid inkosi. I can't have both.
I have not sold anything on this forum and have noticed that people without feedback seem to have a harder time moving knives.
Is it worth the $30 if I only need the paid membership to move this knife?

Yes. It is most definitely worth the $30. If you sell it on the Bay, they will take more than your $30. Plus you will have a year membership here.

When you add up all the info available about anything and everything to do with knives, including CRK...that alone is worth contributing $30 to this site.

Being able to sell is just a small bonus of paying for a membership and keeping the lights on...

It starts with one, then you see another, then something else catches your eye. Even if you can only keep one you can move between knives with minimal loss. No selling fees and less than $1 a week to support a site you enjoy. Yes it's worth it.

Clear photos, an honest description, 1 price shipped, paid via PayPal Goods and Services, Shipped Priority Mail. You shouldn't have any problem Selling what you don't keep.

Regardless, yes, a membership is worth it.

I wrestled with that for about 8 months and finally popped for a paid membership. Immediately listed two things for sale and thought I'd recoup my cost, but they didn't sell. Finally sold a Survive! Knives 5.1. It's worth it. I'll sell more, and the membership will pay for itself over time. The key is having something in demand and pricing it right.

I paid the $30 just to support the forum as I try to learn the knife hobby as well as I do firearms. Thirty bucks is a small price to pay, less than 9 cents a day.

Definitely worth the price as others have mentioned. Honestly, look at all of us who have responded to your thread... all members.

Welcome aboard! :)

Yes, absolutely yes. It's worth it. Not only to sell your knives, hold more PM, have a signature, etc.. But above all to support this fantastic forum, and his admin.. This forum is so big that every day you always find something new and interesting.
$30 per year are maybe too few for the service they offer..

Yes, it's worth the extra money. Paid membership has its advantages which have already been mentioned. I've never not had a paid membership. I've only heard about pop up ads, never have seen one with a paid membership.

Just remember, everybody has been in your shoes selling here for the first time. Good pics, honest description and demand PayPal goods/services only will draw more people in over Family/Friends payment option. I've passed up sales threads over the Family/Friends option.

Besides, having a paid membership should bring you around more. I know I don't like to waste my money ;)

+1 on just getting a membership! I got my first gold membership to sell a knife and now 200+ transactions later it supports the site and keeps my collection fresh:)

I will pass along this piece of CRK selling advice that was given to me. They told me to absolutely get a Gold membership here, be sure I search pass posts on what other knives have sold for and check dealer sites to see how I compare. They said take pictures with good light that show the condition of the knife. And once I had done my homework and have all the facts.... they told me... don't. ;)

A membership is worth it just for what it does to help keep the lights on here. I have never sold a thing via this forum and really have no intention of doing so, I AM a knife blackhole ;).

Looks ta the entertainment, knowledge and insight that is available here and try to put a realistic price on it.

I've been a member here for more than ten years, and whenever I need to sell knives, I pony up for the gold membership here.

With a CRK it should be fine. Sometimes you'll try to sell something that people don't really want, and then it's hard without taking a huge hit. But CRKs hold their value pretty well and move pretty quickly at competitive prices.

I'm with the guys and gals who suggest full disclosure in your listings. Trust me, there is nothing worse than getting a knife in less than the condition than described. The buyer shouldn't have to ask the questions IMO as the condition of the knife should be accurately described when trading or selling. If anything, describe it as worse than it really is so that expectations are exceeded.

I could not agree with the above statement more.
It sucks when you get sold something less than you payed for.
Be honest and do what is right by people. (and pay the $30.00)

Yes, get the membership.

I've starting doing YouTube videos of my knives for sale in addition to detailed photos. With knives that cost as much as a CRK, I feel it's worth the extra effort so the buyer really gets a feel for the knife. It's really easy to do anyway. There are some things you just can't capture easily in photos that will work in a video better. With that said, I've bought dozens of knives here over the past year including 13 CRKs and only had issues about 5 times. Most were minor and the seller and I always worked it out.

.... and there you go. You just skirted the $30 membership fee with this thread. I'm sure that wan't your intent but threads like this often pop up for that very reason.

I have bought and sold, but have a paid membership really just to support this website and community. It is the least I can do. Blade Forums rocks.
