What is the best way to fix minor wear-and-tear dings to a brushed finish on stainless? Is there any way to fix small areas without entirely refinishing the whole surface? I'm talking about small scratches here. Thanks

Ultrafine Scotchbrite belt or wheel would be the choice. I think there are Scotchbrite products available for flexible shaft/Dremel also.

I would use caution though if you use the Dremel , those things can put a fat divot on your blade if your not darn careful.

Soap free scotchbrite pads sold in the grocery store followed up with 0000 super fine steel wool. This would be a way of doing it without power tools. Be sure to rub in the direction of the grind.

Whatever abrasive you use, be sure to go only in one direction. If you go back and forth or switch the blade end-to-end, you will make something of a mess. I assume you're picky about the finish or you wouldnt be asking.

A nice slow way to go about it, depending on the hardness of the blade, is the scotchbrite pad laid flat on a work bench. Strop. One direction.

Good luck.
