I did a trade over the weekend and i was assured this to be a non catologue knife. Is it does anyone know, and what is the blade type (it is stainless), does anyone know what stainless.
Thanks Paul.

Paul, It looks like with a blade length of 7 inches you have a model 1 configured as an All Purpose Fighting Knife with Red Micarta handle with finger grooves. At least that's what i looks like to me. Steel used is 440b I believe. Others with more knowledge than I have will probably chime in with more info. Nice looking knife, if interested in selling well you know.....

Cn'R wins the Kewpie doll on this one...:D

Dan, note the index finger dip on the blade spine...

Shel, forgot all about the model 16 SP#1. Looking at the Randall catalog I can see it now. Still, it's a nice looking knife with the red micarta handle.

Dan no worries, if you keep the 'index finger dip on the blade spine' thought in mind, you'll be able to spot 'em every time...otherwise, unless you get a really good straight on look, #16-7's & #14's can be hard to tell apart at first glance...

Shel

Hey, before I forget, good score on the RMK jacket, glad ya like ;)

Thanks for the help, i am steadily switching my fixed blade collection to Randalls and Doziers in production knives 5 of each at the moment.
Cheers Paul.

Really, it is both. It also appears in the non-catalog insert as well as the regular catalog. Congratulations on a great knife.

...and not too many years ago, less than ten, it was not listed in the catalog but was only in the "non-catalog" insert. So all are correct, it's just a matter to time.
