I am looking for a light/thin pocket knife. The blade length must be under 4in. It also must have a clip. I am looking for a knife for my boot according to the laws in KS you can not have fixed blades concealed and since I am trying to follow the law. It does not matter if it is spring assist/manual ass long as it is thin and light w/ a clip. Thanks for your help!

Lightest and thinnest for me means a Spyderco Delica or Endura. Delica is under 3". Endura is under 4". Run you $50 -$60. For less expensive, look at the Byrd Cara-Cara made in China at about $20.

Spyderco Endura/Delica/Centofante 3 or 4.

I like the BM grips too, but the spydies are thinner. More comfortable in your boot.

The Benchmade 530 Pardue is extremely thin and lightweight (less than 2 oz), has a reversible (left or right hand carry) tip up clip, ambidextrous one hand opening via thumbstud, good steel (154CM in mine), comes plain edge or half-serrated, 3.25 inch blade, 4.17 inches closed, zytel (or other type thermoplastic) handle and the extremely strong axis lock $62.50 at new graham.

Spyderco Pacific Salt. Same size as the Endura, except slightly thinner. Unlined FRN handle so it weighs even less, totally rustproof construction, hollow saber grind so it is thinner behind the edge (making it a better cutter than the flat saber grind Endura).

The 530 has been my primary EDC for three years now and it's a real solid performer. I strongly second this suggestion!

A Microtech mini socom tanto. It is wicked! Small light, and high quality. I looked at New Graham website, but only see socom elite. Perhaps they don't make the smaller mini socom anymore. This is a really fine self defense knife for you. I bought two, years ago, in auto and manual.
