Advice on a 25

Hello everyone. First off I wanted to say what a great forum this is and how helpful I have found the conversation here. For some reason I only recently discovered the CRK forum and now it is at the very least a daily visit. The intelligent discussion and advice here have made it a pleasure to drop by and read, so I just wanted to say thanks to the CRK community. So I am really into the new Sebenza 25. From what I have seen the new design is a great way to modernize such a classic knife without taking away from the trademark simplicity of the Sebenza. The clean scales, the new blade profile and grind, as well as some of the more subtle aspects of this knife have made this a piece that will definitely be in the future rotation.

Taking all this into account, I still have not been able to pull the trigger on one, though I have come close a couple times. My only reason is I keep telling myself to wait for any small or embellished models that may appear in the coming months. I guess I want to see the full spectrum of what this model may have to offer before I commit to one. This is of course going to be personal preference, but I was wondering if anyone else is having the same thoughts or if I should maybe just get in line for one. I know many of you are very pleased with your new 25s and all the threads and pics relating to the newest incarnation of the Sebenza are awesome. Believe me, they have not made trying to wait it out any easier! Just not sure if the wait for something that may not be coming or is a long way away is worth it with this one, especially when the plain version looks so sweet.

Thanks everyone

Get it!!! I absolutely love mine, but like you, i want a small but I think we will be waiting for awhile.

That may be the plan in the near future! Just the idea of a small micarta 25 Insingo is a very attractive prospect.. Even though I have no idea what it would look like or if it will even exist. Thanks!

Lets face it, they're all great blades, in any model or configuration. I'm lucky enough to have an umnumzaan, regular, classic, 21 and 25. Right now, the 25 is my current short term favorite, simply because its the newest. Second to the 25 is a large insingo micarta, then a small regular. The classic is probably my least favorite, although I still like it very much.

Just get one. Don't think about it too hard, you'll end up getting more before too long!

That is probably true. The 'get one now and one when the right embellishment comes along' philosophy may be the right course of action.

Just get it. I have carried only my 25 for the last week. It has been years since I carried one knife for more than 2 days before rotating to another one in the EDC stable. I'm sure the "new" will wear off sooner or later but for now at least I have no desire to put anything else in my pocket. You wont regret the purchase and if it isn't a good fit for you there wont be any trouble getting rid of it.
