Mornin' all you beautiful BFers!
I'll preface this by saying that I'm not concerned how a knife slices or how thick it is behind the edge. I love Medfords to give you an idea...
I've got a Hinderer Half Track waiting so already good on that one. I know how stupid it sounds but don't use 'em really hard just mundane, edc use.
Wondering what your thoughts are on a 3" or less folder that's beefy. The Medford's that fall into that category don't interest me.
I'm looking for a beefy, "hard use" folder. Actually like the look of the Midgards Dvalin but not sure about the knife itself and it's build.
Any suggestions would be great and really appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance, I'll do my best to respond to everyone. Don't know if it's ok to say in a post like this but if you've got something you're willing to part with...send me a dm.
Have a great Sunday and be safe out there!

This is the knife he's talking about, fellas.

So I'm gonna guess that Spyderco is not on the menu.

As for constructive suggestions.. Whew! That is a honkin' hunk of knife. I really like it, except for the framelock part.

Have a look at Jesper Voxnaes' work. He teamed up with CRKT to make the Batum, which was 3" by 3/16. I was happy with mine, but I can't recommend CRKT as a brand because of heat-treat problems.

I do like spyderco's, especially the para 3 but want beefier. I actually like framelocks but don't have a lot of experience with anything else. I've heard about the issues with CRKT so thinking that's not the best decision.
Maybe I should add that I'd be ok spending around $400 if the knife is actually worth it.
Really appreciate your advice...thanks brother!

Voxnaes does customs too, but I have a feeling his designs aren't going to quite fit your taste.

You could look at Extrema Ratio. Maybe not enough girth in the blades.

Jon Graham's designs might fit the bill.

Not sure about prices, though.

Damn, I like Graham's designs for sure, the model in the pic looks exactly like what I've got in mind. I'll check out Extrema too, they've got some really nice looking designs.
Really appreciate it!!

It's nothing like the pictures above; but the Berg Iron Pup (non flipper). It is, by far, my favorite sub-3" modern folder. Mine owned my RFP for almost 2.5 yrs, and only lost time because I've been carrying a much larger folder (4.33" blade) for a few months.
Cropped pre -used picture for you:

Man, I like that too. As usual, great advice. I'm going to spend my day at work shopping!

Not sure if these are along the lines of what you’re looking for, but I’ll toss the WE Roxi and the Berg Blades Slim into the mix.

Strider PT (the one on the right) . Sub 3" blade of CPM 154, and Ti framelock. They sell on the BF exchange for 400 - 500. REALLY HIGH QUALITY.

Strider.....

Mick Strider has problems with stolen valor and his less than emotionally mature reaction to criticism.

The knives are good, if seriously over-priced. Mick tried really hard to build a connection between his time in the military and his knives. When somebody showed up with proof that his military career wasn't quite as prestigious as people were led to believe, it called his reputation as a person and a knifemaker into question.

Normally I wouldn't bring this up because it's ancient history. For somebody who has the Marine emblem as his avatar, it might be important.

Yeah, I had a PT, SNG and SMF once upon a time...sold all three although I really liked them. But to Shorttime Shorttime s comment, I off loaded them when I started to hear about all of that. They are still great knives and I know you can't believe everything you see online but, there are a lot of sh*t bags nowadays stealing valor and I just cannot let that go.
Thanks for the input though!!!
