I am conflicted on the best way to make a sheath for this knife so I want to take advantage of y'alls knowledge and experience. What are your thoughts on this

thank you for your time and advice

Dan

The tip of that knife is going to make it a huge pain in the ass for insertion and extraction for a pouch style sheath - I am going to call that one out.

You know what might make the most sense... a Kukuri style sheath - something like this:

Of course your sheath would be mostly straight - but the insertion manner would allow you to make a sheath that usable and as unique as the blade.

In this manner - the knife could be inserted, slide down, and then snapped shut.

I think any other way - and the damned sheath will end up looking goofy or not working well.

The Randall Astro had a similar tip profile, although it was a completely different type of design. It seemed to do OK in a standard Randall type sheath. I'd go that route with a blade that long. Nice leather sheath with belt loop with a diagonal strap that snaps to the front right over the choil area. BTW, the filet knife came out great and I know my friend is going to love it. After we give it to him, I'll post up some pics. Thanks again for accommodating me on such short notice.
