I just recieved a CRKT Fixed Falcon today, I really like the knife, but I dulled it cutting wrapping paper:( . I would like something of similar size and shape, but with better steel, it has to have a pocket sheath that can't really be noticed or felt more than a folder would be, I would like to keep the cost under $50 but if it is something I really like, I would pay more. I have always been a folder carrying guy for EDC and a Ka-Bar kinda guy for outdoors, but I find I am enjoying carrying a $25 knife with bad steel over some much more expensive folders. Any suggestions?
P.S. I want the F&F to be the best I can get for the $$.

Benchmade Instigator would be good 440C is an exellent steel for the money.
I carry a CRKT Sting but it is not a great cutter because of the double edge.
I really like the 1050 steel though.

Gene Ingram or Charles May would be my suggestion. I've got several from Gene. His F&F is well beyond what you'd expect for his prices. He has a fixed pocket knife that is just plain a joy to use. He uses a lot of D2, but will work in 440C or other steels as you dictate. He's also good people.

I think the suggestions so far have been a little over my budget at this time, thanks anyway.

Check out the Bark River OMF in A2 steel, which will really outperform what you're used to, but needs to be kept oiled.

I found on here in black G10 for about $65:

They can be had in many beautiful handle options, though. Check out the official site to see them all.

Shoot man , if I were you I would toss that Falcon in a toolbox and buy yourself a Ryan PlanB. They run about 12-15$ and are great little knives.
Aus-6 steel , compact package and a true bargain.

This is much more expensive than I have seen them go for by the way.

I know this knife is over what you want to spend, but it is a GREAT knife! I am suggesting the Nemesis Arch Ally. I would also sugest Charles May & Gene Ingram too. I would also suggest Tom Krein, but these suggestions are all over what you asked for. Sorry.

If we keep it very, very simple, I could probably make you a tough little fb at $50.

By the way, Benchmade Instigator is AUS-8, not 440C, I believe.

KnifeOutlet.com has some Blackjack small hunters, AUS-10, 3" blade, for around $25. Supposed to be a very good knife. I"d check that out first. Within budget, good quality company, etc.

sounds like a deal to me,,a customer for 50,,,always the way to go when from a good make,r...

good luck,,,sounds like your lucky day

Check out the RAT3 or becker necker. The blackjack small is also a nice knife, similar to the woods walker.

The Bark River Mini and Micro Canadians are great, and can be found just a bit over your limit.

I am taking him up on his offer, but I still want a knife I can get untill it is ready.

Try a Ranger Little Bird ($45), they are tiny, well built neckers and can easily be slipped into a pocket. Also you might try the Buck 860 Hartsook neck knife made of s30v.($25)

Another vote for the Becker Necker, been carrying one for several months and recommend it highly. If you're like me you'll really appreciate the thin, skeletonized handle for comfortable pocket carry.

Check out Peter Atwood's Goblin. A little more that you were talking about, but I think it fits the bill.
