I will soon order a Masters of Defense MKII CQD Deiter. For those that don't know, the MKII is the slightly smaller version. (3 1/4" blade).
I am confused about which blade finsih to order. I of course, love the look of the black, but I need to know how it will wear. I know it is going to wear, but to what extent? Will it look like hell eventuallly? I will opt for the grey finish if the black is gonna look like 20 miles of bad road. Thanks for the help.

All MOD Knives are coated with Boron Carbide,Do a search
on Boron Carbide to find what others think of the Finish.

You mean all of the black ones, right?
I did a search, but I guess it confused me more than helped.
Anyone got advice on which blade I should get? I don't like scratches on blades! Help!

Razorhunter, all the black finishes will scratch. They are put on some knives with less than stainless blades to protect them from rusting. I guess the coatings on stainless knives are just there to look cool. I must admit that they do look good when they're new, but it wont last. If you don't like scratches go with a satin finish.

Oneslowbird said it. However, for what it's worth, the Titanium Carbonitride coating has proven itself to be able to stand up longer than most other "black" coatings.

The late great one (James Mattis) used to say there were two reasons for a black blade coating. One, to improve corrosion resistance and 2, to reduce glare/visibility especially at night.

The BC will scratch, but it also "grays out" with use. Will such wear be detrimental? maybe not, but it ismore visible than a bead blasted finish which doesn't have too much glare anyway.
