I am trying to give my family a reasonable x-mas list; ruling certain things like a Browning Citori. I guess I was born into the wrong family.
But I could use a nice non-threating type of knife for the office - like a 2-2.5 inch blade with some class. I have a mini-grip I carry outside the office. Since I kind of like Browning products I was thinking of a Browning knife. I believe these are all made in Japan (possibily by Mcusta?) or Italy (Fox). Based on what little posting I can find on the forum about Browning knives they are good values for the money. Here are the models I was thinking of:
Micarta - Model 300 - Looks nice but I am a little concerned it make look a little to "flashly" for me. I don't like the high polish chrome handguns for the same reason.
Stag Lockback - Model 307 - I like stag but have heard that unless you spend some serious bucks the stag scales are poor matches and/or fit and finish.
Shawdow - Model 136 - G-10 and 440C. Not real classy but interesting for about $20 bucks.
Elite Signature - Model 7222 - Zytel handles with rubber inserts 440C - Not sure that this model has the class the others have but I have always thought the Buckmark logo was cool. I have a few items with the Buckmark logo - an need more
Can any of you tell me who actually makes these for Browning and what your thoughts are on the various models for "office duty".
Any other suggestions in the Browning line - I would consider something similar in another quality brand but needs to be $50 or less. No MoP - Like wood but not sure how it would hold up in the pocket with the keys.
