Ok im ordering custom handles from Luke at Cuscadi.. after some great back and forth emails we came up with either Linen micarta or Carbon Fiber micarta either one with a sandblasted vintage finish (going for that izula micarta handle type look) going black with lightened age marks and a black or OD lanyard... so please please anyone with an opinion for either one lemme know :)

It's kinda like asking someone else what color car you should buy. The quality and performance are the same. The only opinion that matters is yours.

Which one do you like best?

well i was wondering in an EDC situation with reg use paper cardstock the occasional piece of wood etc... which material holds up better retains its looks etc.... im set on the color and finish just want to pretty much nail the material best suited for those needs

Well, I think linen micarta will absorb dirt and oils more than the carbon fiber, showing its age faster, if that's a concern for you. It can be cleaned though. I like a knife that looks worn in.

well im probably leaning towards the carbon fiber micarta and luke is gonna sandblast it and sand it a little to give it character and make it look "worn in" as you said :) i want the best of both worlds thats used well worn look with real life strength and reliability

allways loved the Linen for gripping and it just plain looks cool. Micarta certainly does absorbe more , but I actually dont mind that. It seems to still allow the positive grip needed.

BYMMV

Do you have a good email address for Luke at Cuscadi? I'm having trouble getting in contact with him. Thanks.

i just used the email form on their site and reply using mail@cuscadi.de remember it might take a day for them to get back they are on a different timezone
