Advice on fixing up new Al Mar

Picked up a new made in China Al Mar (3.15" Honey Jigged Bone). This is the only one I have handled, but it is not quite as nice as Japan made Al Mars. I'd love to hear some advice from knife makers on how to fix things up and get it up to snuff on the fit and finish.

Liners stick out a little past handle scales on the heal of the handle so to speak.
Bolster and bone isn't quite flush, with the bone scale being proud.

Any ideas about how to get them flush, and how would I get the finish of the bolster back after sanding things flush?

Here are some images, though the issues aren't very noticeable visually.

Thanks in advance for any advice. Much appreciated.

Can’t view those pics. Might be better off posting to a imgur or Flickr account, or see about changing permissions in Dropbox? I’m not familiar enough with DB to say.

To “generally” answer your question: files and sandpaper should be enough to reprofile and flush things up. What kind of tools to you have?

Thanks Drew Riley Drew Riley ,
Sorry about the bad image link. I took some better pictures and set up a Flickr album. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmM1rXk6

I have some fine files and gun smithing stones, and a scotch brite wheel on a bench grinder. My biggest concern is to get the bolster finish back. I imagine will have to scuff it up to get things flush

I would be quite curious to see your progress and the result you will achieve

I have the same problem although for me it is more about the brass liners and the steel bolsters being flush together.
Same for transition with blade spine and lockbar

Wish I could do something about the lockspring as it is unbelievably hard!!
There is also atiny gritty feeling at the start of closing the knife.

Mind you, None of this prevents from using the knife and it is as pointy and sharp as expected, but the fact that the handle is slightly thinner and lighter and that we don't have the glass like F&F ruins the tactile pleasure of using it

B bouddha0357 , I will post pictures when I get around to trying to fix it.

I considering a Japanese made version but can only find it with a 4" blade. It is a little longer then I want, but I think I might have to get it anyway :)
