I am thinking about buying a kerambit and wanted some advice on where to purchase one and how much I can expect to spend. I am looking for quality but do not want to pay too much for one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I used to recommend www.kriscutlery.com because I thought they once had kerambits for around $60. However, I just checked their site and the kerambit is $115. They have a Bulu Ayan which might meet your needs for a more economical $55.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I hope someone else is, because I'd also like to have a good, economical source.

Never saw that site before...appreciated!

JTHM,
Thank for the info on Atlanta.com. I checked out the black ninja that you mentioned and was suprised to find that I had just bid on the same exact one on ebay for $20.00! I was finally outbid and for once I am very glad... the darn thing only costs $8.00!!!!!! I think for the money this piece will work out nicely, Thanks again.

Mac Attack,

Don't forget to try to sneak a peek at the CRKT Bearclaw, or a LaGriffe type blade (Emerson or Szabo). Maybe a local knife store has them in stock for a idea of how they feel in your hand?

The only two gripes I have with my Bearclaw are the finger hole edges needed to be radiused off (rubberized abrasive wheel then #550 White rouge), and the sheath is more of a white water rafting affair than a EDC design.

Be Safe!

I've handled the Black Ninja. Don't buy one unless you have fairly small hands. My hands are not large and it is a tight fit. Also, don't plan on dropping it in training or hitting it against anything hard. It is very cheap Pakistani alloy. I ruled it out initially because of the comment "I am looking for quality...." The Black Ninja is OK for certain manipulation training by people with small hands, but it is emphatically NOT quality.

usually they sell out very quicly but go to Valiant Co it is an Australia site and on page 2 of the sumatra section they have what you are looking for $90 BUT that is our poor aussie dollar so about $45-50 for you lot...
Really good to deal with, have a look at the other knives as well.

edited cause I typed the wrong addie
