HI Gang,
I was in NJ at my dads house. I noticed that he doesnt even have a knife that would cut a tomato. AND, the way he sharpen knives in his time was on a oiled stone till the were a small fraction of what they once were.
I have tried in the past to show him how to use a Sharpmaker but well you cant teach a old dog new tricks. And my step mom has never sharpend a knife in her life
Anyway, I thought a good Christmas present would be a electric knife sharpener. One my stepmom could use. has to be simple to use, I have seen several in stores and some online and some writeups in Blade a while back.
So, guys what recommendations do you have for a electric sharpener.
I figure I need a two step sharpening system, one that has a course and medium or fine medium. I dont remember the name of the ones I read in Blade, but they sounded like they could work.
All suggestions are welcomed
Thanks
Jack

ChefsChoice 120 is pretty solid for kitchen knives; but, I don't recommend it for expensive knives -- it can scratch the blade's sides.
Also works well for filet knives.

Ditto on the Chef's Choice Jack.
