To lay the ground work, I have a Small Insingo Micarta and we are almost inseparable. I recently got a Small Standard blade with slab sides and I just can't get into it, the pointed blade seems to get in my way(I cut things I don't want to or myself). I've laid it down for a couple of weeks and my pick it up again to see if it's just a whim on my part.

On the other hand, I could trade it up. Let's try a LARGE INSINGO? How would a Large fit my small hands(slab sides)?

From my experience, if the small works well for you then the large will be too big. I have had small sebenzas for almost 10 yrs now, and the two times I got a large I ended up selling it because of the size.
Edit to add: a 25 is on my list though because I want to try one:)

I like the large CRKs. I've tried the smalls, but they are a tad too small for me. I'm not saying that a small is useless, because if that's all that CRK offered, I'd be carrying a "small" something:)

I say try a large and see if you like it. You can always sell it for a slight loss.

+1

Buy a large Insingo on the Exchange. If it does work out sell it as a catch and release. Other than shipping you will not be out much.

I carry my small regular Seb while not at work (an office environment). I just got a large micarta Insingo Seb that I plan on carrying when doing special projects around the house - just haven't had a chance yet.

I bought a safe-queen Mnandi, so I have not used it. I want to buy a plain Jane Mnandi (if there is such a thing) to everyday carry at work.

The large Insingo is not always pretty to look at. Like any CRK has it's own off-beat charms, but is a bit of an ugly beast compared to the grace of the standard blade 21. However....this knife gives me way more cutting pleasure than any blade I own, if that makes any sense. I have been carrying it solid for a couple weeks now, and I think I'm eating twice as many apples and tomatoes just cause it is so fun to cut stuff up with the large Insingo. I find I'm cutting apples into 16ths, and even slicing grapes in half just because. After the relative heft and thickness of my 25, the slim profile and lighter weight of the Large Insingo is also welcome.

So I guess my advice is.......if you want the pure joy of cutting something with a knife, go for it. If you want something to fondle and covet, I'd probably skip the Large Insingo.

A mix of beauty and beast:

I don't have a large plain, but I do have a large micarta Insingo. What city in this great Bayou state are you in? Maybe we could meet up and you can have hands on with a large to see if it's for you. I'm in the Lake Charles area.
