Hello, I hope everyone had a great holiday season. My girlfriend got me some of my first "real" shaving gear this christmas and while i've been into knives for quite some time, I'm somewhat of a novice when it comes to straight razor maintenance as it pertains to honing. So, she got me a thiers issard super gnome extra and I was wondering what stones/grits are recommended for future honing and sharpening. I am super excited to to delve into the ritual of straight razor shaving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. She also got me a rooney pure badger hair brush, a strop, and some l'occitane soap. What are your recommendations and preferences? Thanks.
