Advice on old Case Knife

Help needed, i have just bought what i believe to be a Case yellow small swell end jacknife, it measures 3 inches closed,has a clip main blade of 2 1/4 inches with CASE & XX on the nail nick side on the other side 32024 1/2 , the secondary blade is a pen of 1 8/10 inches, there is no sheild, it is pretty mucky but still has good snap, half stop and no blade play.My question is this bearing in mind i have never had an old Case knife before and would love to carry it as a user, should i put it on the buffer to clean it up ? The main blade is not to bad just patina,but the pen blade almost seems as if it is made of stainless ie just a bit of rubbing with a cloth and bright patches appear. I am out of my depth here so advice would be appreciated. And i am sorry but i do not know how to post pictures.

Sorry i put it in the wrong place thanks for moving it, re the picture question i took a look in faq and went ahead and registered as a gold member if i understood that aright in three days posting should be a breeze.Coz i do not understand that img stuff.
