Advice on purchasing

Hi all,
I'm finally going to do it, for real. I'm finally going to buy a CRK. I just turned 30 and had my first kid, so for some reason this feels like an appropriate time in my life to take this step.
I don't have a ton of money right now, so I'm looking into different options. I recently saw something on the auction site with my new son's birthday (seems like a sign, right?) but before I take he plunge I just had some questions:

Are there certain things to look for regarding fakes on the used market? Is it crazy risky? The knife in question is an Inkosi with all the documentation / paraphernalia.

Anyway, if anyone could let me know what I should/need to be considering I would really appreciate it. And I will repay you all with pictures of my new knife.

Thanks bladeforums!

Typically, look for "Authorized Dealer" on that site..Secondly..post a pic here.
Look for torx fasteners. CRK doesn't use torx..there are other things to look for as well that we can help with when a pic is posted.

So it would be cool to post pictures of it here to see what everyone thinks?

Yes, just don't post links to live auctions.

Awesome, thanks.

If you don't have the money yet, keep an eye on the exchange here. Its a safe place to by a pre-owned CRK for a good price.

I don't see anything that's too alarming other than the small pictures..Personally speaking; If someone wants to sell an item such as this, then high quality and high resolution pictures are a must and I will avoid purchasing without good pictures. Blurry pics and or small pics seems fishy and possibly deceptive. Too much risk for me.

There is a thread stickied that you can add a birthday wish list item to...Many of us look through there on occasion and try to accommodate when possible.

Ditto on the exchange, great comfort level, and sellers who will be glad to educate you as you go along....

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll just try my best to be patient and wait for something in my price range [emoji1417] I really want one, but don't want to risk doing something I'll regret.

You can also try my Chris Reeve Knives BST page on FB as well. Lots of sebenzas there as well as here on the exchange. With eBay, always use extreme caution and buy from authorized dealers. I have bought from all 3 with no issues. Just have to know what to look for. As always, show pics if unsure as there are many like myself more than willing to help.

There's a great CGG on the BST forum right now for $250.

Personally, I would never buy a knife on eBay, period. The exchange is where you belong if you're looking for a used knife.

That being said, I have been on a quest to find a CRK with my son's birthday for almost 3 years. Believe me when I tell you - you might regret not getting that Inkosi. It appears to be legit. Might be worth asking the seller for more info if you can swing it. :)

I know, right!? It's almost too tempting, especially since a small Inkosi is what I've really been after. We'll see...

Just buy one from an authorized dealer, and you will be fine!!
Oooh, you are getting an Inkosi, that is cool. I LOVE mine!!

Both are legit CRK's.
The small 21 is over priced for being used. You can get a new small for a little more.
The small Inkosi is a bid item. Some items are bid up at the last minute and may not be worth the anxiety of getting caught up in a last minute bid war where you may pay close to full price. You can watch it to see if it will hold at the current price which is a cheap price for it.
Both don't offer returns, but is guaranteed that you get what you paid for.
The only time I buy over there anymore is if the seller is a authorized CRK dealer.
In the past, I've ran into more issues buying from individuals over there and here can't say I've had any issues from forum members.
