I just got in my GEC Bullnose a few weeks ago and been carrying it regularly and I just noticed there are rust spots on it inside the knife on the liners and backspring and 1 spot on the blade. I've been checking the blade for rust or patina quite regularly and no signs until today and neglected to inspect the inside for awhile. With summer nearing it seems that the 01 steel is a lot more prone to rust than I imagined. Is there a good way to put a patina on the knife blade/liners/back spring without affecting the pull strength to open the blade, or am I over thinking this and this is a non-issue? Never put a patina on a knife before so this is new for me, any advice is welcome.
