advice on sharpening ats-34&154cm gerber coverts

over the last 40yrs i have always been able to sharpen my knives having been shown by knowledgable friends. stones, lansky diamond and simple pre-set steels. now i find my gerber covert blades dull and cannot find a working method. i know some people do not like the coverts, but for me the handle and blade style work well in the construction field. anyone have this problem ironed out. as knife steel goes,i really have had no luck with ats-34 or 154cm. are the edge grind angles not standard?. any help on this will be greatly appreciated. i will buy a new system if needed or just learn from someone who knows about thid subject. thank you for any help. autofull. by the way, these knives are the double bevel grind.
