I have been carrying my Emerson Blackbird for about 18 months on a daily basis. It is a very useful and well made knife. I was not familiar with sharpening a chisel ground blade when I purchased it and thought I would share a bit of advice. I called Emerson's customer service and was told to use a black "sharpie" type marker to color the blade's edge. Scrape the marker off with a flat stone, Make a few light passes on the back of the blade with your stone. Strope with cardboard. Very fast and easy. Im glad a didnt send the knife back.
