I was thinking I would like to build a nuclear power plant. I was told I should ask here. I need some one to explain nuclear physics to me. Type slow, I don't read that fast. Also, can you tell the best kind of uranium to use? I heard that the 238 stuff will really put out voltage and that is good right? Is there some where I can get some uranium for free? I don't have a lot to spend on this project. Maybe some can give me a little and I will pay them back after awhile? I am going to use a garden shed I have out back to build it in. I want to produce enough extra electricity to sell to the power company. I heard they have to buy it if you make extra. So some one should tell me how big I need to build the generator.

Thanks Sunshadow. I really appreciate your help! Do you know anything about patents? I have some drawings, should I send them to you to look at?

I gots a brother-in-law whos second cousin twice removeds wife's brother works as a janitor at a patent attorney's office so I should be able to help you out.

They say that it will need innovative entrepreneurial effort to combat global warming. It warms my heart to see you so involved, Tracy!

PS...did you check for online courses? :)

Read the stickies, fill out your profile because there may be a nuclear plant engineer in your area that would be willing to let you come by and look over your designs. In the meantime I really recommend doing a lot of reading, there's some good websites and they have lists of books and tutorials you'll find very helpful.

Yeah, my eyes are beginning to bleed too.

A lot of these guys remind me of when I used to do a lot of baseball umpiring, we were working new guys in the association, evaluating them for promotion during practice games. I was correcting a young guy's first time on the "big boy field" his signals and rotations were horrible. He interrupted me to ask if he was ready for college ball. I gave him about 5 minutes of !@#%$!#@$!@# and told him to get his head straight.
I moderate a baseball umpire's list, invite only. 99% of us withdrew from the forums because of the repeated "how many strikes in an out" type of question. On the other hand I had the pleasure of a new smith coming by the house and forging with me and it was great. Recharged my batteries so to speak. :D

Could I use the aluminum from Home Depot? I'm not sure what grade it is but it shouldn't matter. It rhymes with uranium so it should be close right? I'm going to try it anyway. I'll probably use 1/8" because it's cheaper than the thicker stuff and I'm going to need a LOT of it :D

Don't know squat about nuclear thermodynamics so will get straight to the point: got any purple g-10 or something similar? Would like to change out the handles on a Spyderco Lava but got to find the materials first. (Wife is a purple nut.)

My step son graduated 2nd in his class from nuclear power school for the US Navy and worked on their experimental reactors in Arco Idaho. Lots of time when I asked questions about reactors he would say that's classified. So first you need to get a bunch of classified. Maybe you can get some from military surplus. They always seem to have lots of it around. The government also seems to use a lot of classified also. There was a boy scout who collected up a bunch of old smoke detectors batteries and some special paint and he was well on his way until he started went critical and they gave him some classified. Some good clues on how he got started are in this article.

This is what happens when you spend too much time pounding on steel. Its just the ringing in your ears and not dementia that has made you have these irrational thoughts.

Buy a new hammer and make something sharp. You will be cured of this madness.:D

The above advice is all good.

As for your question on patents......
I have some, but prefer real leather.
I read somewhere that they can be cut apart and made into real nice sheaths for knives with Jeep spring blades.

Sale No Mobarak - ( I think that is Persian for ,"Don't buy anything else from Obama)

Uranium is good but Idiotonium is better. You can find it cheap at almost any internet forum.

I have heard that it is full of ohms, especially between the left and right sound orfices. Just be careful that the ohms do not get out. They can be transmitted to other Idiotoniums with terrible effects.

Gotta go for now. I am doing research on lawnmower blades in order to make a real ninja sword.

I TOTALLY forgot about the OHMS! I have plenty of copper wire from an old motor my uncle gave me a couple years ago. That should work.
Also I have about 3 gallons of used motor oil in a bucket from changing my car oil yesterday. I spilled some trying to get 3 gallons back into the car so I put in some vegetable oil also. A lot of people don't know you can do that but I saw it on a TV show on the Discover channel awhile ago.
I checked the military surplus store here and they don't have any google counters. I'm going to need one of those and radiation badges too - like Homer Simpson wears (but real ones). I think I can get some uradium from Craigs list. Does anyone have that address?

thought I should chime in here, because I am an expert in nucular fiziks.
The government will probably give you an economic stimulus to get your reaktor going. I think you just need to prove that you aren't Russian- or is it Islamic?
Well, in either case you don't look like a Russian or an Islamic person, so there should be some money out there for you.
Good luck:thumbup:

Just put a checkered table cloth on your head and tie it on with a bungee cord. Drive to a nuclear power plant. Introduce yourself as Achmed Smirnoff and ask nicely for some plutonium. Should be no problem.:D:D

Well, I've been working on the Ultimate Endurance High Performance Nuclear Power Supply since I was just a wee lad hiding under my desk during air raid drills, and back then I came up with the idea of scraping off all the luminescent hands of thousands of old watches. All of the indformation I've gathered to support my original thoughts has pointed to me being right on! I've managed to conclude that a nuclear power plant is only a so-so device, built by them folks with lots of book-learnin' and big words. Not a one of them can remember the old-time air raid drills, so they've forgotten the power of the hidden message.
That hidden message, friends, is that the radium I've been scraping off of old watch hands is much better for making the Ultimate Endurance High Performance Nuclear Power Supply.
Remember Madame Curie?
-radium
Watch hands?
-radium

Coincidence? I think not. The original formulation is still the best. It was how we discovered it.

I've had my finding looked over by someone with a chemical background, and although every other individual, document, essay, or thesis disagrees with them, he says I'm right. So we're right. The rest is just conspiracy, holding us back because of grudges against our Traditional Ways. This man and myself have become fast friends as a result of our mutual search for the Ultimate Endurance High Performance Nuclear Power Supply.
He's got all the fancy book learnin', so I'll see if I can't get him to post, too... he can stack some words up and so you'll know that we're talking truth!

Don't take our word for any of this, by the way... do your own research following our methods, and reach the same conclusions we have... so long as you can feel the difference, and let the Ultimate Endurance High Performance Nuclear Power Supply talk to you.
