Advice or review on two tents.

Hi guys,

I am trying to decide between two tents first up is,

the snug pack bunker seems a nice little three man tent but i cant find any user reviews online. Their gear seems to be well considered though.

And the second one is,
an offering from REI. The half dome 4 man tent.

Camping style is family backpacking nothing really strenuous but i do prefer to buy overbuilt gear due to the fact like everyone else i wouldn't want gear failure on a windy rainy day with the wife and son that would be ..... I shudder to consider that end.

Anyway look forward to your comments and advice.

I have the REI Half Dome 4 man tent. It works great for me. Setup is super easy. Probably the easiest tent to put up I've ever tried. The poles are connected with a joint in the middle, so when you expand them all, you get a big X. The tent attaches to the poles with external hooks instead of sleeves (which makes it much easier). The tent and rain fly and footprint have colored tabs so you can line them up correctly.

Basically, the whole thing goes up in about 5 minutes.

So far, I haven't had any leaks the two times it was used in the rain. Minimal condensation drips in the morning only happen if you disturb the rain fly too much.

After a windy night, I found out you need to secure all the guy lines or it flaps around too much.

Space inside is enough for maybe 3 people unless you're all very small. Maybe you can get by with two adults and two small children.
 
So in your experience the four man tent is only comfortable for three , is that with gear inside also ?

I'd go for the REI.
IF there is a problem, they will back up thier products. I've had very good experiences with thier stuff.
I had a travel backpack of thiers(hidden waistbelt/shoulderstraps kind) that I used HARD for 4+ years. All over the US, Asia, even backpacked with it in Joshua Tree for a week. finally had a zipper blowout,a shoulderstrap cam break, and a tear(my fault). I dropped it off for repair, they said it was all under warranty. A week later they call me and tell me they would rather NOT repair it and give me the $$ credut for a new one. I go get the new one and 3 weeks later they send me the old one REPAIRED !! I called and they said just to keep it.

GREAT COMPANY !!
