I want a decent quality fixed blade knife, for 100.oo or under. I want a 7" or longer blade. I am considering the Cold STeel OSS, Cold Steel Bush Ranger , Cold Steel Peace Keeper, and the Ontario Frontiersman.

In this price range, can someone suggest a knife better than these ?

Big Country "Camper"
8" broad blade of AUS-8 Rockwell 56-57 rc, 3/16" think, convex ground. Will cut veggies and firewood. Excellent camp/hunting knife. Kraton handle molded around a full tang. Big Country sheath allows carry right or left handed, vertical diagonal, or horizontal. $99.00

Thanks for the look...Mike

The CS Bush Ranger is a top quality fixed blade. You really get lots of bang for the buck. It will slice and slice and slice some more, and the handle is very comfortable.

I'd have to agree about the "camper" it's a very good blade for the bucks. For a
slightly less expensive blade look at the Ontario spec plus SP-5 bowie. For
the money it's really tough to beat for field use. One is a cadillac while the other
is a chevy. Both will get you there.......depending on how much you want to pay.

Check out the Becker Magnum Camp for about $70 online. Becker blades offer amazing bang for the buck and have handles that most people find very comfortable.

Becker Magnum Camp -- 13-3/4" overall, 8-1/2" long blade, 0.188 blade thickness. Designed by A.B.S. master bladesmith Jerry Fisk. Exclusive high carbon steel (0170-6C). 58-59 RC blade hardness. Black epoxy coating. Becker trademark GV6H ergonomic handles. Kydex® multi-carry sheath system.
