Advice request - mammoth bark subhilt

Here are some pictures of a subhilt I am working on. The handle is mammoth with the top edge all bark. I need some advice on what to do with that top edge. Should I leave it entirely alone and expose as much of the bark as I can. Should I take off just the top rough bits and expose the crackle underneath. Leaving the top fairly flat would expose as much of the bark as possible but would not be as comfortable in the hand. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appraciated.
Thanks
Steve

Steve,

I can't offer any meaningful advice, but that knife looks like it's going to be special. I like it!

Good question Stephen.
I would let ergonomics dictate handle design first, then try to keep as much of the character from the ivory texture and color as possible.

Going to be interesting to see the finished knife. You are off to a good start.
