Advice wanted on sharpening Seal 2000

I own several different knives which I like to keep razor sharp. My two current sharpening systems are a chefs choice 120 electronic sharpener and a Lansky diamond system . I have a sharpmaker on order.

The problem I am having is sharpening my SOG seal 2000. I can't seem to get anywhere near a decent edge edge on it. can someone give advice on how to sharpen this knife (methods, angles etc.)?

I got a Seal Pup for Christmas, and dressed the edge this morning. I freehand on Arkansas stones, keeping the factory angle. I found it easy to roll the edge if not careful, but when done, definitely a SHARP blade.

It's not so much about getting a decent edge on it; as it is in trying to hone an effective 'shavin' sharp' angle on a massively thick blade stock (made of 440A SS), with some factory serrations that probably gets in the way of some proper sharpening. It would take some buckets worth of elbow grease to file down a steeper angle of a SOG SEAL 2000. And it could ruin the serrations in the process. The question would be, is it worth the effort once taken into consideration that the SEAL 2000 isn't so much a handy kitchen helper as it is - to take down a rogue bear.

Thanks for the replies folks. I will try a couple more methods. It sounds like my angle might be screwed up and I need to put some serious time into this project.

I got the Sharpmaker yesterday. I used the Sharpmaker on the Seal 2000 while I watched the DVD. After the DVD was finished I had a mighty sharp knife  Thanks guys.
