I'm thinking about a ranger 112 but I'ld pefer a BG42 blade.
Is it possible to get 1 straight from the custom shop. I've looked at the custom & saw for the 110.

The reason why I ask is being in Australia I'ld rather avoid the double handling of buying 1 & shipping it back for after market blade.
Any help would be appreciated.

...Hi Mitch, unfortunately your best bet would be to scan Ebay periodically for a 112 with the BG-42 blade. Buck doesn't offer it as a regular option nor do they offer it in the custom shop at this time. If they did, there would probably be a host of forum members sending theirs in for the BG-42 upgrade. Myself included. IIRC there was one very recently for sale on Ebay. I didn't watch the bidding to see what it went for however. Check out the BF exchange as well...sometimes one pops up in there. It hought this posibly could be the case.
It might be have to be a 110.

Joe Houser engineered a small run of BG-42 blades for the 112 about 3 years ago. At the time, you could send one in and they would swap blades for $35. I'm not positive but I think they are all gone at this point and I would be surprised if they ever did it again, at least Joe won't. I'm sure it was a royal pain for him (everyone sent their knives right to him) and he seems a lot busier now after the Idaho move. (I had two made and they are sweet :cool: )
 
I would definitely get one if they did it. That way I would have a real reason to mail in something to "BKI" and pack along my wobbler that I've been crying about in other threads ;)
