Goodafternoon,

As this is my first post here on the forum, I first would like to thank you all for providing me with a lot of information and insights about many different knives, it has helped me a lot in making a choice for an EDC tactical folder.

I live in the Netherlands (which isn't a "knive"country) with very limited options to check out knives in a shop (there aren't many).
So as I will be ordering my knife from the internet I hope you can give me some more advise in order for me to narrow my choice down.
I will be chosing between:

-ZT 300
-Sebenza
-Greg Lightfoot folder

If anyone can give me some advise which one to choose it would be great, or maybe a suggestion I haven't mentioned on my short list. What I want is a strong tactical folder for EDC, it most be very smooth in opening and lock like a bank vault (my reference is an Al Mar sere) price maximum aprox. 500 USD.

Thank you in advance

Welcome, you can search this site using google as there are already many threads!

I've never handled a lightfoot, but the ZT is the best value in the folder industry. Tadgear.com has a few without the tiger stripe which is a huge plus. I also like the grippyness of g10. The seb is much more elgant in its design, and a mini-seb is my everyday carry. To my eyes, its much less 'tactical' then a ZT.

You will not go wrong with any of them. Perhaps telling us when and where you'll be using it... For instance a Seb would be much less 'scary' looking in many circumstances, and thats why edc one, (because i work in an office.)

Hello and Welcome!

That's an interesting selection there. Two are production framelocks, one is a custom piece, but not a framelock.

From an availability point of view, the ZT will be the easiest to get, then the Sebbie, and finally the Lightfoot.

Unless you are planning on ordering direct from Greg, a Lightfoot from a dealer will likely cost you more than $500. If Greg is still taking orders (haven't checked myself lately), then the wait will likely be 6 months or more.

I have owned an M1 in the past, and if you are looking for a bank vault lock-up, I would think you'd be better off with a framelock.

The other option you should consider is a Strider SnG. This is also a production framelock that can be had for under $500.

I don't think you will go wrong with any of these choices. It really comes down to personal preference.

Thank you for you replys,

I will be using it in different situation, work in an office, but in spare time a lot in camping/hinking/ martial arts camps, so mostly outside.

I am aware they are really different knives, I base those 3 choices mainly on design (I like them all 3), as I havent held one, and probably will not untill I order.
So what I am trying to figure out is if they are all 3 in the same category for strenth/ smoothness. What I mean is, if the lightfoot is as strong and smooth as a sebenza then I can base my choice only on design (off course the price dif. and waiting time I will consider)
