So, Advocates appear to be in stock most places again, and the price has gone up. Are these the new redesigned model or are dealers just marking up prices on their old stock?

If you notice there was a price increase for some models and an increase in MAP for all vendors so you should see atleast ~8% increase for all Spyderco.

Probably still old stock. Mine flips like a demon. I wouldn’t be wary of picking one up.

I want another one to replace the one that I sent to Spyderco and they kept.

But, I want the new design to be indicated on the box that it is the new design before I buy another one.

Iirc sal said there will be a cqi version, but Dunno when it's due to hit the market. I'm sure it will specify when it does.

I have found that when we don't tighten the pivot screws too much you don't have the washer problem. This does not excuse the design flaw I just decided that I like the knives enough to give my flipper a little eaxtra attention. I have Domino's, I just traded my Southard For a couple of knives, 1 of which was a 3rd Domino. I never bought the Advocate because of all the negative but I think I may consider one now.
As of today I never had a washer problem yet but I do agree that the washers are paper thin.

I had one from the original run and while the action was disappointing, I realized that I didn't love the design either. The handle was very thin which of course makes for easy carry but sacrifices comfort when cutting with force. My other complaint was the finish on the scales. The orange peel effect looked good but provided no traction. The scales were slick.
