Adze made in New York by whom??

I can only make out part of the mark on this adze. Does anyone recognize the mark?

I'm guessing the right side of the mark should read "CAST STEEL". Thanks for watching! T-A
 
There were a bunch of New York tool makers, so hard to narrow it down from there without a particular city or other details. By the typeface it looks to be late 1800's manufacture, in all likelihood.

Did you notice the letters above NEW YORK?

It looks like "...EEN" or "...CEN", maybe. T-A

That's what I love so much about this forum, the wealth of knowledge possessed by its members.
