AEB-L Steel Question.

Wanting to hear from anyone who has any experience or knows anything about AEB-L steel. I've been making a few scandi knives and wanted to try a stainless Eklund blade in this steel.

Is it any better than 12C27 and how does it compare to a good carbon?

Any info appreciated

AEB-L is made by Bohler-Uddeholm, our competitor. It's very similar to our 13C26. Both are made primarily for razorblades. 12C27 is more corrosion resistant and slightly less wear resistant than AEB-L/13C26.

These steels compar very well against carbon steels since the fine carbide structure makes them similar in termas of edge stability, re-grindability and toughness. More info on the homepage i made a year ago:
