Aes 79

Hello,

This knife has fallen into my hands and I can't find anything about it. I was wondering if you guys could tell me anything about it. The only marking on it is on the handle, it says "AES 79". The knife slides in and out of it's case, you can also lock it in or out of it's case.

Curtis -- don't know if you're still watching, hoping for an answer or not. Hope so.

Having said that, I haven't seen anything like your knife. But, when one gets ahold of a strange, unknown knife, it is always wise to check with Bernard Levine on his forum. He knows an amazing amount about an incredible # of knives.

No markings that show country of origin or anything?

No, the only markings on the knife are the letters and numbers "AES 79".

It looks like a German/NATO gravity knife with a marlingspike. Usually the number, 79 in this case, is the year of manufacture. The AES is probably the manufacturers code.
