Just got my new Benchmade AFCK PE from New Graham Knives. Love it! Been wanting one for a while now. Ths knife out of the box shave like a razor the whole length of the blade. Not razor sharp, I mean it shaves like a fine straight razor. You just need to lightly brush the blade against your arm and it's shaving your arm baby-skin smooth. This is VERY impressive, to say the absolute least. I really like the fit of the handle and the G-10 scales give a solid grip. This knife just plain FITS my hand. Opening it is the real cool part. You can open it fast just using the thumb hole. That's fast. Or you can hold back the axis lock button and flick it open. That's very fast. Or you can do the "Brownie pop" and that's freakin' warp drive! Fit and finish is excellent. I don't mind the black coating at all really. This isn't a chore knife for me. Clip came on knife right where I needed it, so it was ready to go right out of the box. Do I love this knife? YES!! It's a LOT of knife for the price. Out of 10 possible points, I give it a 10. This is simply a great knife. Superb quality all around.

Not to forget the super duper AXIS Lock!!

I do love my 806D2 too. It is one of the best production knives ever made.

Glad you love your new knife ! I've been thinkin of gettin me one of those AFCK D2's myself :) they seem to be a real winner. I have the small AFCK, and LOVE it !!

the moment they make a mini afck with axix lock and satin finish D2 i'll have my credit card ready

I got both, the large and the small one. My hands are not that big. That said i found the mini AFCK somehow to small, for example on whittling. It feltt like the most unsecure knife compared to another small one like the Gerber AR 3.00.

But the AFCK is comfortable. It was my first large knife after some years of carrying smaler ones and i will not change back. I carry it in every kind of clothing, take it to jogging... There are multiple ways to grip it and it feels secure in the hand.

I use it since 5 month or so and exept some touch ups, no resharpening needed. It came from factory with an average angle around 35° included, wich is good considering the steel grade.

I just say, don´t hold back.

I love mine.
It was on the list pretty low for years because the ergos didn't click for me.
Lets just say the designers knew more about it than I did.
Its pretty unique in a lot of functions.
However it wasn't till I began abusing it, sharpening it and finally carving a roast with it that its excellence really sank in.
Defensive to utility the AFCK does it all. Of course, thats what they all say.
Mine is the Advanced Folding Camping Knife model though.

I've had quite a few folding "combat" style knives. The thing that I like about the Benchmade Axis AFCK is that it does everything well. It's got a great blade shape for defense or utility. The D2 steel is awsome. The handle shape is great and I prefer an opening hole to a stud any day. Oh yes and it's tip up carry as every good knife should be.

I prefer larger blades like my SIFU or the Camillus Maxx but the AFCK is still the best "all around" knife I owne.

One question I have on the D-2 steel is, does the edge remain fairly rust-free within reason (as most so-called "stainless" steels)? I know the Axis AFCK is BT2 coated, but the edge is exposed. I have heard D-2 is just below the stainless threshold but sometimes resists some corrosion like some stainless steels.
Thanks for any info.

I have the 710HS. Use it in 98% humidity most of the time, even carry it in my back pocket and have it wet with droplets of condensation. So far no rust. I have a 921bt in 154CM carried the same way. Rust with red oxide powder on the blade under the thumbstud. Go figure.
