Hi I'm new here and just had a quick question please.

I've seen a large Benchmade AFCK in D2 for sale which I'm interested to buy. It's in good condition as it's only been used for letter opening duties and fondling... but it has a blade alignment problem when closed.

Below is a pic:

What I'd like to know please is if it's fixable? Has anyone tried to and successfully fixed this problem? I've successfully managed to fix the alignment problems on a couple of millies and an emerson in the past but I don't know if it'll work with other blades too.

All advice appreciated and thankyou in advance.

Usually all you can do is mess with the pivot screw but if the blade is not making contact with the liner I would say who cares.

Thankyou. I don't think it touches the liner but I'll have to ask to be sure of this.

Could it be fixable by playing with the spacers/standoffs and the pivot point together?..If you know what I mean. This is how I fixed the millies and the emerson.

no itz not fixable,i have had several knives like that the pivot is the only thing you can do,and it does not help much, try the nu 806 in m4 steel.....

it doesn't look like it's out of line, its the blade grind. and that cant be fixed

The seller just confirmed there is a curve in the blade due to either the heat treat or an error in the grind so I'm going to leave this one.

Thanks for all your kind help.

as high as it is ,try the new m4 steel i got one in pe i love mine, price around $225

Yes I'd like to get a ps AFCK in M4. They're a little hard to come by here in the UK though. The D2 one was going for cheap which is why I was interested.

I have a ps 710 in M2 and it's great but a little cumbersome for a larger folder imo and I prefer the grippier G10 of the M4 AFCK.

Thanks again for everyones help.
