Hey, just had to let it be known that an 800 afck (black combo) just went on ebay for $405.00. Wow. probably an isolated occurance, but still. Wow.

Look at the bidding war participaters profiles. Not that many buys.

I'd like to see if the money is paid.

I sold it for my dad, I was thinking it would go for maybe $140 at most, we'll see if he pays I guess. I couldn't believe it went for $405. The upside is I guess he doesn't have to sell anything else to buy his Strider....

I figured it would make it on here. LOL I'm still in total amazement myself....

Wow! You are like the Donald Trump of the knife world.

Congrats to your dad on the sale and his future Strider purchase!

The winning bidder has over 100 positive feedbacks, no negatives. I guess the knife with the Spydie hole, brand new condition, can bring a price like that if there are a couple of collectors that really want it. Congratulations on the sale! Wish I bought a dozen of those when they were current. :)

I got one of the very last ones Newgraham had. It's in my top five favorite folders, and I carry it often. I don't think Benchmade's ever had a better design than the 806D2.

Holy...

Will you sell my Ford Explorer for me? I want to buy a Ferrari.

.

WadeF: Yep, your correct. I was still thinking about the second best bidder. I look at the winners feedback whenever I see such price anomolies (I try to follow the prices on the bay for reference).

mmorningstar: Congrats. I figured it'd go for $100 to $150. But, it just proves the proverb that things are worth what people will pay for them.

thanks, like I said, I'm still totally amazed myself. Maybe it has something to do with the Spyderco License sticker being on the bottom of the box. I've had AFCK's myself with the Spyderco hole, but none of them had the special Spyderco license sticker on the bottom of the box, maybe it holds some significance we're unaware of.....just a thought...

all of the 800s i have seen had the spyderco sticker on the box(probably 8-10 anyway, i used to collect AFCKs) imho that would have no bearing on anything.

i have an old 800S prototype i wonder if its worth anything now? have an 804 prototype too.

I'm not sure, but I think some of the mad (crazy) over the 806 is spilling over to the other 800 series knives.

Wonder how long it'll last.
