I was at my local Woodcraft store here in Houston today (www.woodcraft.com). They had a "manager's special" clearance sale on various exotic woods such as lemonwood, mequite etc. Most of these are small blocks for turning, I think. There were three pieces of African blackwood for $99 each (regularly $275) that measure 4" x 4" x 39" and weigh about 24 pounds. They are able to ship them via Fedex for about $12. Each of these should provide someone with a lot of handles.
