African Blackwood Goodness (comments welcome!)

Titanium scale on my small 21 Insingo and 25 replaced with beautiful African Blackwood/G10 courtesy of my good buddy Steve Ketchen at Sketchenscales.....I think he did a great job!

Lighter than full titanium, just a bit heavier than the Knifeart CF models. Pretty elk antler bead on the 25, made by Steve, as well.


(sorry for the water drops, something we rarely see in Aridzona!)

wow those came out looking pretty damn good! Congrats! I didn't know you were getting two made. :cool::thumbup:
 
Steve emailed pics of the (almost) finished 25 scale.....I couldn't send the little 21 down to him fast enough when I saw 'em!
 
Those are interesting. Can you see much grain in the light or are they totally black?

Mainly black, but in the light there is plenty of light brown/white/tan visible in all the grain lines/striations that you can see in the photo.

When I hit it with a flashlight, there is a lot of brown all over, as well.....maybe as much brown as black.
