A good friend of mine has a birthday coming up. He has a large and small African Blackwood Classic Sebenza. Well how nice would it be if he had an African Blackwood Mnandi to round out the set?:cool:

So I've searched, I've sent emails, and I've searched some more.....nada! I don't understand, from what I know African Blackwood wasn't a rare inlay, yet I'm having about as much luck as finding a small mammoth bark Annual. Insanity!

So what gives? I've never had this much difficulty finding a knife. Is it rarer than I thought? I know they no longer offer it for inlays, but man!

Call it a rant thread, call it a cry for help.

Anybody else here have a CRK they've hunted and hunted with no luck?

I find it to be like the watched pot. If you're a actively searching, it won't come up. My Desert Ironwood Mnandi came up when I wasn't even looking for Mnandis.

Yup....please see my signature...I'm sure most here can empathize with your frustration.

On the plus side, though, I have come across some very, very impressive looking pieces while on the hunt - many that I'd never seen before.

Yep, a 'Morning Sun'.....

I saw 3 of the Blackwood Mnandis in the months before you 2 decided to hunt one, go figure.

Absolutely. Both large and small non-stamped micarta 21s have eluded me for some time. The WTB forum is probably full of people with similar problems. Thing is, as soon as you put down cash on something not quite as sought after, the one you really want seems to surface within a day. I will keep an eye out for the Mnandi, good luck with your search.
