Hello, I saw this Mnandi 3 years ago on a small forum overseas and immedieatly wanted it. I have never owned a Mnandi despite owning many large Sebenzas. However, at the last minute a guy swooped in and got it from right under me. Honestly, I think it was because the seller didnt want to ship overseas. But anyways, I said right there and then that I would not buy another Mnandi unless I saw this exact one again or a fellow member of B.F. let a similar one go. So to my amazement I was looking over some of the smaller forums and I saw it for sale. At first I thought that it was a mistake or a repost or something but it wasnt. Exact same knife, same birthcard, everything. Now Im in no way a Mnandi expert but I have looked at the entire Mnandi pic post and no where is there one exactly like mine. It is basically entirely made up of different dark shades of green. Not only that but it is from 2006 when I was told CRK had some of the best Mammoth Bark they ever had and may ever will. Some say that you only get a chance like that once in a lifetime, well I beg to differ. I contacted the seller and after some serious convincing he agreed to ship to the U.S. and almost two weeks later the Mnandi that I have been looking for, for almost three years was in my hands. I couldn't believe how impressive the fit and finish is with these little guys. I previously never had the chance to even handle one so I didn't know what all the fuss was about. Right when I first opened it I understood how some have such a love for Mnandis and collect them exclusively. I still can't believe that over 3 years later I was able to not only find it overseas but it was for sale. I have never typed in "Ill take it" faster than I did that day. So to everyone out there that has missed out on a knife and think about it almost daily, I am here to say," Have Hope." Anything can and will happen and my story proves it. It wasn't even for sale from the same guy that had originally purchased it from under me, it had changed hands at least once but is still in N.I.B. condition and came with original birthcard, box, etc. Im not the best at taking pictures but I tried my best and I hope you understand why I waited so long to find this one again. Thanks for listening and to all have hope as the one that got away can always turn up, even if it is clear across the Atlantic ocean thousands of miles away. Take care.

Great story and Mnandi of course!! I'm with you about 2006 having the best Mammoth ever:thumbup:

So patience does pay:) nice story, you got lucky on that one! They are great little knives, I know you will love it

In response to red mag, no this one will be a collector. I would never forgive myself if I lost the one that I tracked down for over three years because when I tried putting it in my pocket I couldnt even tell if it was there. However, I have been thinking about buying another to use as an edc on those days when I just want something a bit smaller than my large sebenza. I just have no idea what inlay I would get. After this one anything besides Mammoth Bark seems like it just wouldnt be as appealing. Possibly a Mammoth Ivory one, Hmm, I never though of that. That may be the answer. We will have to see. But as far as this one goes its strictly going to be a safe queen which will come out and be admired as much as possible. I just can't believe how well they are constructed and the fit and finish is amazing. And just surgrically sharp. But we will have to see where it takes me, I wouldn't mind collecting only Mammoth Bark but I really like the ones with a lot of character and it took me three years to find this one again, not sure if I could wait another three, lol.

Awesome Mnandi! I've been convinced lately that I need to get one.
If you get another.. get snakewood. It's so pretty. =]
