Small Wood, I actually completely forgot about it....then I got an email. Blade is S30v.

So, just thought I would put up some not so great photos. :)

Thanks, it happens to be Box Elder wood.

This is my first Sebenza....I'm very impressed.

If you can, please post a close-up photo of the front scale- the wood looks really gorgeous.

I have a 2003 large wood sebbie on order, but I had the blade modified- the grind is stonewash, and the flats are polished. I've seen it like that on other knives, and it looks not only real cool but functional as well, that is, less likely to get scratched in use.

Wow how does the color actually compare to these photos (i.e., does the wood look lighter or darker or just the same in "real life" as it does in these photos")? It seems like the other pictures I've seen of box elder wood show it as a much paler yellow.

Box Elder wood appeals to me a bit, only because I have a few large box elder trees in my back yard.

How you see it in the photo is just how it looks....the front large scale is a bit darker than the one on the back.

I will attempt a close up photo later on of the front.

Very nice, with a dual thumbstud too. I never did like the single thumbstud on the Sebenza.
