When I first started buying INFI last October I started out with a one of a kind Bruiser FBM LE #4. It was used but I fell in love with it. It was everything I could ask for in a chopper and due to being used, I wasn't worried about breaking it in. Then after using it quite a bit I figured out that a slightly thinner set of handles on a slightly thinner and shorter blade would be perfect if I needed to rely on just one piece of INFI to do it all.
So the quest was on for an FSH, but not just any FSH, it had to be one of the early .25 ones with the convex grind and it had to have standard blue/black g10 handles, but otherwise I was flexible on the blade surface. I even bought a used Armorall sheath for it in January in anticipation of finding it. Then I finally found it back in March only to miss it on the exchange by a very short period of time and have never seen another one since.
So after buying every flavor of INFI I could think of (including 3 other FSH's) and not seeing another one for sale, I was desperate. I finally sent an email to the guy who scored it to see if he would be willing to part with it. I didn't hear back for a while so I figured it wouldn't happen and then one day last week I got a surprise. He replied saying he would let it go for what he paid for it.
I jumped on it! It showed up yesterday afternoon and it is exactly what I have been looking for all this time. In my hand it feels like this knife was made just for me!
Thanks, Joe!
Here she is!
Well, you've heard of a baker's dozen, and this one gives me a bruiser's dozen. Blue/Black #13 accompanies the other 12 you see in these two pics. I can safely say my bruiser collection is complete... unless I find either a leaner meaner or a skinny ash-1. :foot:
Thanks to everyone that helped me get to where I am now, you guys are great!
