I knew I wanted custom Kydex sheaths for my H.i. Khukuri, before I even purchased my 1st. I'm going to lash my ASTK to my Maxpedition Vulture II now, I feel thats much better for the trail & I don't want to ruin the traditional sheaths ;) As some of you may know after I came across this thread I knew who I was going to have make them. Its been a long 3 month & 1 week wait but I finally have them & here are pics for you to check out.

My ASTK & Gelbu Special next to one another.

I missed these things & wanted to take them on my last hiking trip. Now that I have them back its time to lash 1 to my pack get out there to chop some dead wood to take more pics & post more pics for you guys.

Its really easy to access but putting it pack in there properly I have to take the pack off

Very nice, how's the retention? I imagine it must be excellent if you're lashing it handle down?

It has a pin lock that goes thru the cho' area to hold it in place but I actually used a molle back on the set up. The 1 for an esee 5 or 6
 
how about a pic while you are wearing it? I can't quite visualize it. BTW has any of our military members on this board found a good way to carry a 16" Khuk while in patrol gear? My son is in the Nat. Guard and we are trying to figure a good carry solution.

Dirty, those sheaths are sweet! Your ASTK is so nice looking. The shape and patina look incredible.

That was my 1st Khuk & its a beautifully made chopper.

Thanks Paulie, that is a nice looking rig. Will have to see if we can fit my son's kydex sheath onto his pack like that as I do like the way it stows!
 
What type of Khukuri does your son Have? For my 21" Gelbu I'm getting a thigh strap & will wear that on my left side attached to my belt strapped to my leg. Being my Gelbu is not heavy I don't have to worry about it pulling my pants down & it wont be bouncing around because of the thigh strap.
