Well I havent been around too much over the last 6 months - life happens and tends to keep one busy, in a good way :) Over the last year and a half I got married, moved from NYC to AZ and now have a baby on the way, which, tends to change priorities just a tad :D:D:D

So after a fun Busse journey over the past 3 years and being fortunate enough to own 25+ different models I have switched from a collecting mindset, to culling 'em down to the ones I pack most... At the end of the day, I have found myself left with 4 beauties that are my tried and true Busse all-arounders:

1. SARSquatch (Sage/Tan Canvas)
2. DSF (Terror Monkey - Camo/Tan Canvas)
3. BWM (Desert Warfare - Sand/Tan Canvas)
4. RatManDu (Sage/Tan Canvas)

They are designs that are true Busse (and Kin) perfection :thumbup::thumbup:

Any of you guys switched from collecting to just keeping the users around? What did you keep?

where in AZ ?
We need to have a Busse-kin get together .
Nice stable.

Nice users. Only missing something smaller like a Meaner or a Rodent Solution maybe. But a folder would do that job just fine so you really do have all your bases covered.

Nice to see you back. Congrats on the new life that you seem to have found. Excellent choices in knives as well. Hope you have a few minutes here and there to come hang out.

Great to see you back, awesome choices there for keepers.
Congratulations on the move and the little one, ours will be turning a year old this month... time sure does fly by!
They will definitely do everything you would need, and they match.

Agreed. I know there are a lot of INFI (and GUN :D) nuts out here... I am in Scottsdale. You?

why the move?

My wife was offered a hefty promotion - with nothing holding us down (kids or house), we said why not. Also both agreed that although we love Manhattan, NYC is no place to raise a child.

Thanks man. Yeah, I went down the sub-4" route and could not find anything I really enjoyed enough to hang onto... wound up sticking with my beloved (and still my most carried and used) ESEE RC-3mil that is just small fixed blade heaven. I love INFI, but some good 1095 at .125" is hard to beat when chopping isnt needed.

Maybe if the Mini-Muk is ever released with that AD/Meaner handle and ultra anorexic... A man can dream, right? :D

Thanks brother - I miss you guys and need to try to hang around more - this subforum is rare in its unity :)

I try to follow the same route, as I never was a "real" collector - if I just do not use a knife, it starts to bother me, just let it sit in the drawer....and there are some financial reasons, also- of course...
But there are always some new INFI comin' my way, what makes the knifebug working in me.
I just sold my precious "Mudsnake" - I just found it too heavy to use it in the real world...still hurts, tho'...

I became an ergo fan from a user standpoint, so I plan to try out some new ergos in the close future.

What left:

BWM LE (I sold my CG,but the LE is the "Perfect Big Knife" for me)
SFNO LE - just a beauty, and a versatile user in it's size category (probably planning some mods on it...)
BAe - my fav.
Basic4 LE anorexic- just a very versatile small blade, and it's really light
CABS LE - same as above, just NICER - and no choil(!)
HogMuk LE
and an RMD LE - classic.

...SHe - in a process...

Great topic as I am no longer collecting any queens either. I sold all of them and only keeping my favorite users.

My keepers are:
#1) TTKZ- 2 of them
#2) BATAC 2007 SE- 2 of them
#3) Game Warden .27 Fatty- Only one but will get another
#4) ASH-1 .32 Fatty- Only one but want another
#5) FFBM- Down to one as well
and the best for last
#6) FSH 2007 SE - Only one but want another *This is my favorite go to blade if I could only have one*

Sweet collection and I can relate to only keeping users around. That's how I am in all areas of life at this point :D Looks like you can handle any tasks with your set up

I am on the same trail, very quickly lately. I have come to the conclusion that I only should keep those that I truly use and love and let others enjoy those that I do not. Its been very rewarding to see those who get the knives I valued but not used go to those who will value them more. :)

I'm even selling users as well, I'm down to "most used" versus "less used" soon. It feels good.

Thanks for the inspiration TrailWolf! I will post pics of the remnants of my collection when I get them whittled down. Once my collection of Busse kin covered a king size sheet, now I'm down to a single. soon to be a place mat and it feels great!!!

Awesome collection! Congrats on the new baby on the way  I ALWAYS have my Magnum Bear Cub on me at all times. There is always something that needs cut :D I like to just stare at her too  That's not weird is it!??!?!

Awesome choices but not mine

I like the BAD, Camp Tramp, and NMFBM for my 3 with an AK in the corner for b/u

I'm with you Pokey . I also ALWAYS have my Magnum Bear Cub on me . I'm no collector either , but I have had a couple of Swamp Rats , several Scrap Yards and quite a few Busse knives . What I have left ?

My chopper - Dogfather
My EDC - Magnum Bear Cub (have two)
New stuff - SJTAC (got two) have yet to try them enough to see weather they stay or not , but feel good in hand .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Nice pared down collection there.

I have recently sold my Muck le and BAD. Not because I did not love them, but because I am getting a custom slip joint, and really want a Rattle Hawk!

I still have my B11, CABS, KZII, and SARQ so I have my user bases covered.
