After a lot of back and forth I ordered an ESEE 4P

I have been looking at ESEE knives for a while and was torn between getting a 3 and a 4. I took the leap and ordered a 4 the other day. Cant wait to get it and I will have it just in time for my yearly deer hunting trip. If anyone has any experience with a 4 for hunting I am curious how it performs. I have been reading threads on here, but I am constantly looking for reviews both good and bad.

The ESEE 4 (RC4) was my go-to outdoors/camp knife until I picked up a Bradford Guardian 5. It's a tough knife and hard to beat for the price.
I wear an XL glove and after adding TKC scales to mine, it was transformed into a near perfect light weight, flat carrying, general purpose outdoor knife. I also added a metal pop snap to the little retaining strap that only has Velcro on it, for extra retention.

First, welcome to BF, this is THE place to be for knife info.
Good, solid knife, worth the cost
Second, our advice is more valuable if you ask BEFORE you buy a knife.
After the fact, it seems like guys are truly looking for validation of their purchase.
Bottom line, nice knife, glad u r here, have fun.

Welcome to the forums Tim.

ESEE makes a great knife. You made a solid choice.

Like upnorth said, I much prefer the G10 handles from TKC.

I'm not a hunter but my ESEE 5 has been a solid camping knife for years.

Thinking about a Laser Strike myself.

I prefer the rounded handles (HM) on the ESSE 3 and 4 myself.

I received my ESEE 4 the other day along with the sheath with the molle attachments. It is a sweet knife, I can see it being a very capable knife for tasks of all kinds. I am very impressed, thinking about an Izula II for my next one and perhaps a 6 further down the road.
