After centuries of waiting ..... my SH has arrived :)

Oh yeah, man, forum rules, new knife must have pics!!!

Congrats Brent. I know you'll like it. The SH is my favorite..(along with the MS, LMS, DWMS, SH-BA, PR, SH-BM, LS, B&T, well, you get the picture...)

What, new knife - no pics???:(

What's this place coming to?

Thank you for all of the congrats.

I wasn't sure whether to get the BM, the SH, or the NO but I definately made the right choice. The SH is the perfect size for my needs. The thing that keeps me picking it up OVER AND OVER is the sheer indestructable sturdyness. It's also much better balanced than I expected.

As for the pics, now is my busy time at work and I'm working 6-day weeks. I'm off today ....... and it's T-storming on and off
I will get some pics this week but I can't post them ;)

I do have a couple of questions / comments.

* I keep hearing about "the little brown truck" and I was surprized that mine was delivered by "the man in blue short pants".

* My SH appears to have a penetrator tip. From browsing the forums I got the impression that was an upgrade. Did I misunderstand or just get lucky ?

* I can't decide if the handle slabs are grey or green or greygreen, any thoughts?

As to my next one, I'm still working on that!

Brent...

I believe Busse has started shipping through USPS rather than UPS. This is just a recent change so we'll have to get in the habit of calling it the RWBTOJ(red white and blue truck of Joy ;))

The penetrator tip on a SH, this is a new one to me. Congrats...:D:D

The handles change colors depending on use, etc. The oils in your hands will actually change the Micarta to a black if you use it a lot and don't scrub the handles. I believe the Micarta is considered black, but it doesn't look it until they are used. You can speed the process if you want to by adding a small amount of oil to them and rubbing it in, just make sure you wipe them thoroughly before use.
If you change your mind just scrub them clean with soap, water and a scotchbrite.

I started a thread with pics about this, if you are interested do a search for "Micarta" under my name.. It's somewhere on this forum, approx 4 months ago.

Congratulations! The SH is truly a prince of a knife! When I bought mine, it was my first also. Then some of the smart alecks on this forum starting saying that I would buy the BM in 3 months. Hah! Only took two! :p

Enjoy your SteelHeart, it's a GREAT knife!

By the way, the penetrator tip is two grinds at the top, and be careful with it!
