I figured I should just get one :p

I know a few folks who have them so I knew what to expect but this is a really great knife. I love all the wee touches here and there that show just how well thought out the knife is. The nick in the lock bar for thumb purchase is a nice way to keep a clean look but still keep it functional as the lip is obviously much smaller than on the Seb. The ceramic lock "face" is obviously one of the big differences to the Seb. and I like that a lot so far. The nice clean look of the knife having lost the stop pin on the spine, and moving that job to the thumb studs, is another thing I like. I'm still not really sold on the handle texturing or the swedge (nearly went for the tanto) but they are little woes in the face of it.

Another nice one indeed from CRK :)

The swedge is great for scraping when you dont want to damage the edge, and adds penetrating ability.

I dont like the pattern either...but does add a good grip.

I dont yet have a umnumzaan, but I really like the pattern on the handle scales. Looks like it would make it extra grippy. Cant wait to get one...........I hope soon.

:thumbup:Nice Score Haze!

I've been on the fence about the Umnum for awhile now.I mean I definately want one,but I really want a second Sebbie too!Don't know which to get first.:o

It's not like I hate the handle texturing or the swedge, if given the choice I
would go with out it but it's not a deal breaker for me......obviously :p

It is a great knife, I was going to go for a Mnandi but the Umnum just kept catching my eye.:thumbup:

Proplems...

I see what you did there...Hahahahahahah :D

I felt the same way about the texture and swedge, after a week in the pocket I think the texture and swedge will grow on you.

I love the "hatching " on the Um handle, great sure grip, but had to dull the swedge, as it did constitute another, or " double edge", And I just didn't want to discuss it with a cop down the road, plus, it leave it exposed in your pocket. Bart1

If you define an "egde" as something that won't cut your finger no matter how hard you press, then I guess it's an "edge".

But if you have cops "like that" in your area I can see your concern. Personally, I'm not worrying about it.
